Stepantsminda-Larsi road closed only to truck traffic
Some roads are closed in Armenia as of Monday morning due to adverse weather conditions, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.
In particular, the roadways leading from Amberd high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari of Aragatsotn Province are shut down.
Vardenyats Pass is closed to trucks and difficult to pass for passenger vehicles.
Roads of Kotayk and Syunik Provinces, Saravan-Zanger roadway of Vayots Dzor Province, as well as roads of the towns of Vayk and Jermuk are partly icy.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is closed only to truck traffic, with nearly 470 trucks stuck on the Russian side.
The ban on entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in force. The ban does not apply to the freight transport.
Drivers are strongly urged to use snow tires.
