Judge refuses to recuse herself from Kocharyan trial
Judge Anna Danibekyan of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction presiding over the trial of second Armenian President Robert Kocharyan and three other former senior officials, denied a motion to recuse herself from the case on Wednesday.
The motion had been filed by Erik Aleksanyan, the lawyer of former Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan, and joined by the lawyers of the other former officials, Kocharyan’s legal team said in a statement. The ruling is not subject to appeal, it added.
The next court hearing in the trial has been scheduled for February 9, at 1pm.
