Russia lifts ban on tomato, pepper imports from Armenia
The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) has lifted ban on imports of tomatoes and peppers from Armenia’s Armavir Province to Russia. The ban had been imposed after detecting Pepino mosaic virus in them.
As Armenia's Food Safety Inspection Body reports, the monitoring of the indicated products were carried out and results were submitted to the Russian side. After discussions with Russian veterinary and phytosanitary watchdo, a decision was made to lift the ban from February 5.
