Search operations for war casualties resume in Artsakh
Artsakh search and rescue squads have resumed their operations on Friday to find casualties of the 2020 war and those missing in action after a two-day break, the State Service of Emergency Situations of Artsakh’s Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
Five teams are carrying out operations in Hadrut, Varanda (Fizuli) and Jrakan (Jabrayil) regions today, the service said. Relatives of missing servicemen also take part in the search operations.
The Azerbaijani authorities blocked search and rescue operations on Wednesday and Thursday, citing “various kinds of works” that the Azerbaijanis said they were carrying out in the areas under their control.
Since November 13, 1,355 bodies of fallen troops and civilians have been recovered from the battle zones. According to preliminary data, 15 of the victims were civilians.
