Armenian analyst Tigran Abrahamyan calls for military reforms based on in-depth research
Head of the Henaket Analytical Center Tigran Abrahamyan calls for reforms in the Armenian armed forces based on in-depth research and professional debates.
“Discussions concerning the military must have a factual basis. Everyone picks up a detail and highlights it, calling it a reform,” he wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
The analyst also reflected on the Artsakh authorities’ plan to cut the mandatory military service period.
“We have neither an appropriate security environment nor such human resources that would allow us to reduce the term of military service both temporarily and in general, even if we increase the number of contract soldiers.
“The military needs reforms, but they must be made based on in-depth research and professional discussions,” Abrahamyan said.
