No search operations for war casualties to be conducted on Monday, Artsakh authorities say
Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) search and rescue squads have found two more bodies of the servicemen killed in the 2020 war, the State Service of Emergency Situations of Artsakh’s Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement on Monday.
The remains were retrieved from Varanda (Fizuli) region that fell under Azerbaijan’s control during the war. The bodies are yet to be identified through a forensic DNA analysis, the authorities said.
No search operations for the war casualties will be conducted today in connection with the shift of Russian peacekeeping troops in Artsakh, the statement said.
As of February 8, the total number of bodies recovered from the battle zones has reached 1,367.
