
MES: Magnitude 5-6 earthquake strikes Yerevan
The Service for Seismic Protection of Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations recorded a magnitude 4.7 earthquake in the territory of Armenia on Saturday at 15:29 local time. The earthquake struck 8km southeast of capital city Yerevan at a depth of 10km. Geographical coordinates of the epicenter were northern latitude 40.11⁰ and eastern longitude 44.54⁰.
The tremor measured magnitude 4.7 at the epicenter. The jolts were felt in Yerevan city with magnitude 5-6, Aragatsotn, Shirak, Armavir, Vayots Dzor provinces with magnitude 3-4.
