MP Gevorg Petrosyan quits Prosperous Armenia faction
MP Gevorg Petrosyan has announced his decision to leave the opposition Prosperous Armenia faction.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, the lawmaker said it was a difficult decision for him.
“At the same time, taking into account the fact that the number one mission of an official holding a primary mandate is to respond as quickly and adequately as possible to the most pressing issues for the country and the people in any situation, rather than think about personal precaution, it is unacceptable to delay adoption of clear measures. which is due to the faction membership.
“The lack of determination to timely make clear political assessments on obviously illegal persecution and lawlessness, which is underway in the country for a long time, is an unacceptable approach for me, and when I filled this gap and called a spade a spade, it caused inexplicable concern of some of my colleagues.
“Therefore, I no longer consider my activity as part of the Prosperous Armenia faction expedient,” Petrosyan wrote.
Meanwhile, he said he will continue to serve as an independent lawmaker.
