Economist presents unemployment rate in Armenia during tenure of three leaders
Economist Suren Parsyan, the head of the Economic Research Office of the ARF Bureau, has presented the unemployment rate in Armenia during the tenure of three leaders – Robert Kocharyan, Serzh Sargsyan and Nikol Pashinyan – from 2001-2019.
“Since 2008, the standard definition of unemployment has been used, which was revised in 2018 to properly reflect new developments in the labor market, to ensure the timeliness of labor statistics and international comparability,” he wrote on Facebook.
“The review is based on the key provisions of the “Resolution concerning statistics of work, employment and labor underutilization” adopted by the 19th International Conference of Labor Statisticians in 2013,” the economist said.
