Search operations for war casualties in areas beyond Artsakh’s control suspended indefinitely
No search operations for casualties of the 2020 war and those missing in action have been conducted in the territories beyond Artsakh’s control since February 15.
The Azerbaijani authorities have banned the activities of Artsakh search and rescue teams in the former combat zones on Monday as well, without providing any explanations.
This is the first time after the ceasefire that the search operations have been suspended for such a long period of time, the Artsakh State Service of Emergency Situations said.
Thus far, a total of 1,485 bodies of fallen troops and civilians have been found during the operations.
