Armenian foreign minister hosts new ambassador of Sri Lanka
Foreign Minister of Armenia Ara Aivazian on Tuesday received newly appointed Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Armenia Meegahalande Durage Lamawansa on the occasion of presenting the copy of his credentials.
Aivazian congratulated the new ambassador upon the assumption of this responsible position expressing confidence that he will contribute to the further strengthening and deepening of relations between Armenia and Sri Lanka, the Foreign Ministry reported.
Both sides expressed willingness to make every effort aimed at full realization of the potential in the areas of mutual interest. As prospective fields the sides underlined the medical education, high information technologies, culture, trade and tourism.
FM Aivazian and Ambassador Lamawansa highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation and mutual support within the framework of international platforms.
During the meeting the sides exchanged views on the issues of regional and international urgency.
