Opposition MP to Pashinyan: How long are we going to search for the truth?
MP Edmon Marukyan, who heads the opposition Bright Armenia faction, on Wednesday reacted to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement that the “Iskander missile did not explode” during the recent war.
“How long are we going to search for the truth?” Marukyan wrote on Facebook. “In an interview on Tuesday evening, Nikol Pashinyan said: “We must understand the deep roots of the defeat… If this is a defeat that originated within [the past] 2 years or 2 months, let's fix it and prove it.”
“In the same interview, Pashinyan noted: "Why the Iskander missile did not explode, or exploded, for instance, by 10%." Then when asked by interviewer Nver Mnatsakanyan if they say so, he replied, ‘I don't know’,” the lawmaker noted.
“The question arises why in this case the government speaks against the establishment of a parity fact-finding commission when at the highest level it raises doubts over many important issues, including the issue of armaments?
“Will the current and former authorities, current and former defense and security officials, field commanders and others continue giving interviews about the war, or will they finally realize the importance of a parity commission and show the political will to create it and answer questions concerning everyone?” he said.
