All key socio-economic indicators drop in Armenia in 2020
Armenia's economic activity has dropped by 7.5% in January 2021 to compare with January 2020 data, according to the summery of preliminary, operative data released by the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
According to the source, the volume of industrial output has dropped by 10.3%, while the trade turnover by 15.1% As the Statistical Committee said, the consumer price index rose by 4.5%, the producer’s price index for industrial products - by 5.5%
The only slight growths in the indicated period were registered in the volumes of gross construction (0.8%) and electricity production (2.2%).
According to the NSC data, the average monthly salary in Armenia dropped by 3.8% in the indicated period. In the public sector the average salary decreased by 4.4%, in the private sector the average wage dropped by 0.1%.
As for the external trade turnover, it dropped by 16.8% in 2020 with the exports decreasing by 11.3% and imports by 20%.
