Some 1500 people join petition to free political prisoners Ara Saghatelyan within hours
Expert in constitutional law Gohar Meloyan informs that some 1500 people have joined the petition to free political prisoner Ara Saghatelyan.
"I express my gratitude to our 1500 compatriots, who joined the petition to immediately free political prisoner Ara Saghatelyan from illegal detention. At 11.00 on March 1, we will be in the same place near the building of the National Assembly. We call on you to join our just demand.
Later at 18.00, we will also continue our struggle for he salvation of our statehood and in support of our army," Meloyan wrote on her Facebook.
To remind, former chief of staff of the National Assembly, Ara Saghatelyan was detained by the National Security Service (NSS) Saghatelyan was charged with allegedly provoking racial, religious or ethnic hostility, public calls for violence and justifying or propagating violence and violation of the rules of publishing or spreading information during the martial law.
Saghatelyan has played an active role in the information war against Azerbaijan for many years, making the war crimes committed by Azerbaijan available to the international media.
Many experts have labeled the case against him as “political persecution”, considering him a political prisoner.
