No bodies found in search operations for war casualties in Karabakh war zone
The search operations for war casualties carried out in the Nagorno-Karabakh war zone had no results in Hadrud and Varanda (Fizuli) directions on Friday, Artsakh’s State Service of Emergency Situations reported. As the head of press department at the Service Hunan Tadevosyan told Panorama.am, one unit of rescuers continue the operation today in Varanda region.
In Tadevosyan's words, the rescue groups have conducted search operations in almost 99 per cent of territories over the past days. "We assume that the Azerbaijani side had collected the bodies and buried them. We hope they would show humanism to return them," said Tadevosyan.
To note, since the start of the ceasefire, a total of 1,488 bodies of fallen troops and civilians have been recovered from the former combat zones during the search operations.
