Criminal case against opposition leader Vazgen Manukyan passed to Prosecutor General's office
Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on public calls for seizing state power, changing the constitutional order by force, using violence allegedly made by Vazgen Manukyan during the meetings held in Azatutyun square on February 12 and 20 is completed, Armenia's Investigative Committee said in a statement.
It reminds that that charge was pressed against him according to the Article 301 of RA Criminal Code and signature not to leave was used as a pretrial measure against him. On March 9, a decision was made to change the charge pressed against him, complemented with calls made by Manukyan during the meeting held in Baghramyan Avenue which also contained violent calls for seizing state power by force.
Criminal case against Manukyan with the bill of indictment passed to Prosecutor General's office to confirm the indictment and submit to Court, the source said.
Note: Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
