Armen Sarkissian has not signed Pashinyan's proposal to appoint Lt. General Artak Davtyan as new army chief
Armenia's President Armen Sarkissian has not signed yet the proposal by PM Pashinyan to appoint Lt. General Artak Davtyan to be the new Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, the President's press office reported.
To remind, Pashinyan nominated Lt. General Artak Davtyan to be the new Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces after former Chief of the General Staff Onik Gasparyan was relieved of his post by virtue of law.
Pashinyan filed the motion to President Armen Sarkissian, who has to formalize it in order for the decree to come into force. Artak Davtyan held the same position from 2018 to 2020.
