New programs needed for restructuring of Artsakh's economy, president says
President of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan on Saturday held a working consultation with the leadership of the Ministry of Economy and Agriculture headed by Minister Armen Tovmasyan to discuss the restructuring of the country’s economy, the presidential office reported.
"In order to ease the economic impact of Azerbaijan's aggression against Artsakh, it is necessary to re-evaluate the economic potential in the territories under the control of Artsakh and to develop new programs for the economic restructuring. In this context, we must provide significant benefits for all businesses, paying special attention to programs to support the economic activities of displaced persons,” Harutyunyan said.
The presidential office said the Ministry of Economy is to come up with new programs both for the whole of Artsakh and for specific areas, working in parallel with the beneficiaries of these programs – large businesses, villagers and individual entrepreneurs.
The meeting also addressed issues related to the state of autumn sowing and the process of spring sowing.
