Search for Artsakh war casualties suspended amid bad weather
The search operations for casualties of the 2020 war and those missing in action in areas beyond Artsakh’s control were again suspended on Monday due to bad weather.
The operations were expected to be carried out in Martuni, Varanda (Fizuli) and Jrakan (Jabrayil) regions.
The search efforts will resume tomorrow in case of sufficient visibility and absence of snowfall, the State Service of Emergency Situations of Artsakh’s Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
Since the end of the war, a total of 1,499 bodies of fallen soldiers and civilians have been recovered from the former combat zones.
