Lawyer: Colonel-General Onik Gasparyan's lawsuit assigned to judge Mher Petrosyan
A lawsuit of Colonel-General Onik Gasparyan, the former chief of the army’s General Staff sacked most recently, has been assigned to judge Mher Petrosyan of the Administrative Court, his lawyer Aram Vardevanyan said on Facebook on Tuesday.
Earlier last week, Gasparyan announced his decision to file a lawsuit to the Administrative Court to challenge the legality of his dismissal by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Citing media reports, the lawyer said the authorities have decided to put pressure on the judge, fearing he could approve Gasparyan’s claim.
“I would like to note that the grounds known to the public regarding the unconstitutionality of the General Staff chief’s dismissal are quite sufficient for the Administrative Court to approve the claim,” Vardevanyan wrote.
