Nikol Pashinyan is ‘afraid’ of us – ARF member
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is “afraid” of members of the opposition Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) party’s Youth Union of Armenia, one of its members, Gor Sargsyan, told reporters outside the building of the Ministry of Education, Sconce, Culture and Sport on Wednesday.
Police cordons have guarded the building of the ministry since Wednesday morning for Pashinyan’s planned visit. Three members of the ARF Youth Organization announced plans to gather outside the ministry in the morning to show that Pashinyan “cannot walk freely in the city without being accompanied by police forces”.
"A year ago, when we were staging a sit-in outside the Ministry of Education, Sconce, Culture and Sport building, demanding the resignation of the infamous minister, Nikol Pashinyan came and met with us, he stood in front of us. Now, a year later he avoids meeting the citizens of Armenia and is walking just 500 meters accompanied by thousands of police officers,” the young ARF member told reporters.
According to Sargsyan, Nikol Pashinyan does not even have the support of his team, otherwise he would not "blame" the other opposition parliamentary factions for the failure to organize snap elections.
"Let Nikol Pashinyan and his team know that we will constantly pursue them and will remind them that they are traitors. Their actions led to the capitulation of Artsakh to Azerbaijan, while we had than 5,000 casualties. Every single minute of their stay in power is leading our country to destruction. The second biggest tragedy after the genocide is today's reality," he said.
Gor Sargsyan highlighted the warnings of the opposition parties back in 2018 that Nikol Pashinyan would hand over Artsakh to the enemy after coming to power, in fact, came true.
"Today we reiterate that these people pose a threat to our country, they have no legitimacy. Nikol Pashinyan's power relies heavily on police forces and our action proved that Nikol Pashinyan is afraid of us – the young ARF members," he said.
