“There is a general understanding that [PM] Nikol Pashinyan, with his useless approaches, is evil that must be eliminated. He is a political corpse, with its stench preventing the people from breathing. It is in this paradigm that my activity in the processes will be carried out,” Ara Saghatelyan, a former chief of staff of the Armenian parliament, said in an interview to the Fifth Channel on Wednesday.

Saghatelyan indicated that he is going to carry out explanatory work by all possible means, including on TV and though his personal contacts.

“I will try to explain to the small groups of people who are still in the power of Nikol Pashinyan's lies or delusion. I intend to continually explain to people that they are being deceived and used. Claiming that “the people are my family”, Nikol defiled this family, he disgraced all members of this family, in fact, leaving them homeless,” he said.

Saghatelyan was under arrest for more than two weeks in connection with the case of fake Facebook user opened in the name of “Gagik Soghomonyan”.

Both Saghatelyan, his lawyers and numerous public and political figures have denounced the criminal charges against him as “political persecution”.
