Snap elections on June 20 acceptable for us - Edmon Marukyan
Holding parliamentary elections on June 20 is acceptable for us," the leader of "Bright Armenia" parliamentary faction Edmon Marukyan wrote on Facebook. "In response to our demand to organize elections in a short period of time, the Prime Minister proposed June 20 as the date for elections. I mentioned that the principled issue for us was holding elections in a short period of time, without delaying them to Autumn or 2023," Marukyan added.
To note, earlier, Nikol Pashinyan informed on Facebook that snap parliamentary elections will take place in Armenia on June 20. "I just had a meeting with the Leader of "Prosperous Armenia" parliamentary faction Gagik Tsarukyan. During the meeting we agreed that snap elections are the best way out of the occurred political situation. Considering also my consultations with the President of Armenia, "My Step" faction, the Leader of "Bright Armenia" fraction Edmon Marukyan, snap parliamentary elections will take place on June 20 this year in Armenia," Pashinyan wrote.
