Two Armenian soldiers reportedly go missing from Jermuk military unit
An emergency occurred in one of the military units in Armenia’s Jermuk town on Sunday, ArmLur.am reported.
Two servicemen went missing from the military unit in the afternoon, and, according to preliminary data, they could have remained under a snowstorm, the media outlet said, citing its sources.
The missing soldiers are identified as Karen Shakhnazaryan and Aghasi Hovhannisyan, who previously served in a military unit in Artsakh’s Karvachar region and currently continue their service in Jermuk.
Sources from the military unit told ArmLur.am that the military personnel had been unable to organize a shift for 5 days, and the two soldiers went to another position to fetch cigarettes and other necessary items before they went missing.
At the moment, the search for the servicemen continues.
