Armenian Ombudsman presented the Azerbaijani policy of ethnic cleansing during the UN Human Rights Council session
During the 46th session of the UN Human Rights Council, on March 19, the video message of Armenia's Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan was published and broadcast in a special format on the issue of Azerbaijani policy of ethnic cleansing and genocide during the Nagorno-Karabakh war in September-November 2020.
As the Ombudsman's Office reported, Tatoyan pointed to the anti-Armenian policy in Azerbaijan encouraged by the representatives of culture, sport AND other public sectors. The Ombudsman presented concrete evidences.
In his message Tatoyan noted that the monitoring of the social media and the Azerbaijani and Turkish media sources documented calls for calls for violence and torture. The materials were being disseminated, targeting Armenian mass media and social network users in Armenia and were also encouraged by authorities of Azerbaijan.
It is noted that only national human rights institutions with an international "A" status have such an opportunity.
