Armenian, Lebanese FMs discussed regional security and stability over phone conversation
Armenia's Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian held on Tuesday a phone conversation with Charbel Wehbe, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon, the press department at the foreign ministry reported.
Both sides commended the high level of Armenian-Lebanese relations, based on mutual trust and close friendship, and stressed the readiness of the two countries to undertake steps towards further expanding and enriching the bilateral agenda, the source said.
In this context the FMs emphasized the important role of the Armenian-Lebanese community in all spheres of Lebanese public life and the significant contribution to the strengthening of friendship between the two countries.
The sides underlined mutual support and closer cooperation of Armenia and Lebanon within the framework of international organizations.
Foreign Ministers Aivazian and Wehbe discussed in detail the issues of regional security and stability. Minister Aivazian drew his counterpart’s attention to the consequences of the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh with the direct participation of Turkey, expressing particular concern over Turkey's transfer of mercenaries and foreign terrorist fighters from Syria and Libya to the conflict zone, the ministry added.
