Prince Harry gets new job at mental health firm BetterUp
Prince Harry has taken a new job at mental health company BetterUp, according to The Independent.
The Duke of Sussex will become chief impact officer at the coaching and mental health firm, the San Francisco-based firm revealed on its website on Tuesday.
As part of his role, the duke will advocate publicly on topics related to mental health and will also be involved in initiatives including product strategy decisions and charitable contributions.
“I intend to help create impact in people’s lives,” he told the Wall Street Journal, which first reported the news.
He added: “Proactive coaching provides endless possibilities for personal development, increased awareness, and an all-round better life.”
Harry has spoken on several occasions about his own personal struggle to come to terms with the sudden death of his mother Diana, Princess of Wales, when he was 12.
Earlier this year, Harry and his wife Meghan Markle confirmed they would not be returning as working members of the royal family.
Buckingham Palace said the pair’s responsibilities and duties, such as honorary military appointments and royal patronages, would be returned to the Queen and then shared among working members of the royal family.
