Artsakh parliament passes bill to grant official status to Russian language
The National Assembly of Artsakh on Thursday adopted a bill on making amendments and supplements to the law on language according to which the Russian language has been granted an official status in Artsakh.
The bill was approved with 27 votes in favor, no vote against and 2 abstentions, Artsakhpress reported.
The draft law had been submitted to the parliament at the initiative of lawmakers.
Armenian will remain the only state language in the Republic of Artsakh, while Russian receives a status of an official language in parallel with Armenian.
