Analyst Suren Sargsyan reacts to meeting of Armenian FM, Artsakh president in Yerevan
Armenian political analyst Suren Sargsyan has called attention to the venue of a meeting of Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian and Artsakh President Araik Harutyunyan held on Thursday.
“The foreign minister receives the president of Artsakh at the Foreign Ministry.
“If we want to highlight the importance of Artsakh and its leader, the Artsakh president should have met with the foreign minister at his residence or at the Artsakh Representation [in Yerevan],” the analyst wrote on Facebook.
"If we want to emphasize the status of the Artsakh president as a middle-level official, then everything is just fine,” Sargsyan said.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry of Armenia said during the meeting the officials highlighted the importance of regular contacts and consultations between the governing bodies of Armenia and Artsakh for the joint resolution of the problems facing the Armenians in the region.
The meeting focused on the steps taken to resolve the humanitarian and socio-economic issues created in Artsakh as a result of the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression. In this context, both sides emphasized the imperative of the unobstructed involvement of specialized international organizations on the ground.
