Legendary commander Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan’s political testament unveiled
The Civil Council, set up by Artsakh hero, Major-General Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan, on Thursday unveiled the political testament of the legendary commander. The Artsakh liberation war hero, who was best known as Komandos, passed away on Wednesday aged 81.
A member of the council, economist Tatul Manaseryan recalled that on November 10, 2020, Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan stressed the need to create a civil council, which would include the Armenian intelligentsia, public and political figures who enjoy popular trust to get out of the difficult situation in the country.
He noted that the Civil Council has been created, adding it only remains to implement Komandos’ testament – to build a viable, stable and strong state through the efforts of all combat-ready and competitive Armenians.
Tatul Manaseryan said that the political testament of Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan was precisely his statement made on November 10.
“Today the fate of the Armenian people depends on us as never before. We must be able to maintain the stability of our state and its system of government. We have no right to succumb to emotions and take steps that will further complicate the current situation.
“I see an opportunity to unite all the vital forces of our society – the Armenian intelligentsia, public and political figures to find the right solutions to this situation.
“You all know very well that I am an ordinary officer who honestly paid his debt to the homeland at the front and continue to do it now. I do not pursue any political or personal goals. I also urge everyone who plays a significant social role today to stand above narrow political, corporate or other interests.
“I believe that in order to find a way out of this situation, it is necessary to create a civil council, which will include representatives of the intelligentsia, public figures and politicians, who enjoy public trust. I can coordinate the activities of this civil body,” Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan had said.
