Economist: Russian gas price for Armenia still uncertain
The price of Russian natural gas supplied to Armenia is still uncertain, economist Suren Parsyan said on Thursday.
“The term of the agreement on the gas supply to Armenia expired yesterday, March 31. So far, there is no official or unofficial information on the price of gas on the Armenian border starting from April 1,” he wrote on Facebook.
“Consequently, the Russian side can even supply gas to Armenia at market prices, for example, at $200 per 1,000 cubic meters (instead of current $165).
“A new gas supply agreement must be signed urgently in order to have a predictable gas tariff for Armenian consumers,” Parsyan said.
