Armenia kicks off COVID-19 vaccination drive
Armenia launched a massive COVID-19 vaccination program with at-risk groups on Tuesday, the Ministry of Health said.
People aged 65 and above, residents and employees of nursing homes and people with chronic illnesses aged between 18 and 64 are set to be vaccinated as part of the program.
Armenia has imported 24,000 AstraZeneca vaccine shots and 15,000 doses of Sputnik V vaccine to inoculate people at high risk from coronavirus on a voluntary basis.
People at risk under the age of 55 will receive Sputnik V vaccine shots, while the over-55s will be offered the AstraZeneca vaccine.
According to the Ministry of Health, the frontline healthcare workers have already been vaccinated with 2,000 doses of Sputnik V acquired earlier this year.
