Police in Armenia block off street near parliament after opposition figure’s statement
Armenian police officers on Wednesday blocked off Demirchyan Street leading to the parliament building after a statement of Gegham Manukyan, a member of the opposition ARF Supreme Council and the director of information and socio-political programs broadcast on Yerkir Media TV channel.
“We are heading to the National Assembly,” Manukyan wrote on Facebook on Wednesday afternoon.
“He who handed over the lands must not have a moment's rest and proceed with his treacherous actions,” the opposition figure said.
Incidentally, a regular four-day session of the parliament is underway, with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in attendance.
