Participants of the anti-government protest detained in Yerevan
The situation remains tense outside the building of the parliament in Yerevan. Member of Alternative Mayor's Office initiative Sona Aghekyan appeared at the scene with red balloons and a bottle filled with red-colored water. She was set to pour the liquid on the entrance of the National Assembly to symbolize the guilt of the authorities for the blood of the servicemen killed in the war. The police detained Aghekyan shortly. Another citizen was taken to a police car when was attempting to enter Demirchyan street currently cordoned off by police forces.
The police officers blocked off Demirchyan Street leading to the parliament building earlier today after opposition representative Gegham Manukyan announced about the upcoming gathering near the building. Incidentally, the regular four-day session of the parliament was underway, with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in attendance.
