Armenian community holds silent protest outside UN Office in Geneva to demand release of POWs
The Armenian community held a silent protest outside the UN Office in Geneva on 15 April, demanding the release of Armenian prisoners of war (POWs) being held in Azerbaijan.
At the beginning of the event, Secretary General of the Switzerland-Armenia Friendship Group in the Swiss parliament Sargis Shahinyan made a speech, presenting the issue of Armenian prisoners after the November 9 tripartite statement.
The protesters were holding posters reading, “Azerbaijan violates international humanitarian law”, “Azerbaijan violates the Geneva Conventions”, “Freedom for Armenian POWs”, etc.
The silent protest was broadcast live on the Facebook page of the Armenian Union of Switzerland (Union Arménienne de Suisse).
