We need to give a new impetus to the Minsk group co-chairmanship - President of the French Senate
There is a need to give a new impetus to the Minsk group co-chairmanship. The three co-chairing countries - the USA, France and Russia - carry special responsibility," President of the French Senate Gérard Larcher said at a briefing in the parliament on Saturday.
To note, Gérard Larcher is visiting Armenia to take part in the commemorative events of the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
The French official informed that he had met President Emmanuel Macron before his visit to discuss France's foreign policy agenda, especially as the country is set to take over the rotating EU Council Presidency in the first half of 2022
"The chairmanship will imply mostly executive activities, however the legislative body has own say not only in France but other EU member states. It is worth mentioning that we plan to organize a summit around security and defense issues in the French Senate," said Gérard Larcher.
