Russian peacekeepers conduct mine clearing at the outskirts of Martakert town
The sapper groups of the humanitarian demining company of the Russian peacekeeping contingent continue to clear the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh from mines and explosive objects.
As the Russian Defense Ministry reported, currently, Russian servicemen are actively searching for explosive objects on the outskirts of Martakert town. Here, on the territory of farmland, during the fighting there were artillery positions.Until today, local residents could not resume agricultural work until the territory is cleared by the sappers.
According to the source, in the end of April and beginning of May Russian sappers found and neutralized 200 artillery projectiles and other explosive objects.
In total, since November 23, 2020, the military personnel of the humanitarian demining unit have cleared 2,064 hectares of territory, 632 kilometers of roads, 1,733 buildings, including 30 socially significant objects, and found and neutralized 25,603 explosive objects, the source said.
