Armenia removes mandatory PCR tests for visitors vaccinated against COVID-19
Armenia is introducing vaccine certificates or the so-called 'Green passports' to those vaccinated against COVID-19 to enter and leave the country freely. The holders of such passports will no longer be required to provide a COVID-19 PCR test certificate at the air and land borders of the country, the acting Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan stated at the cabinet session on Thursday, presenting the respective changes introduced to the Decision on Quarantine.
Avanesyan stressed that the introduction of new measures aimed at preventing the coronavirus disease offers new opportunities to review the scope of restrictions, while the ministry is actively implementing the vaccination campaign to ease the restrictions.
The acting minister noted that the new regulations is for those citizens and international travelers who are planning to visit Armenia. When leaving Armenia, the travelers should check the respective policy in the countries of their destination. The Cabinet also cancelled an earlier decision requiring children below the age of 1 to undergo a PCR test.
