US Secretary of State welcomes the release of three Armenian detainees
The US welcomes Azerbaijan's release of three Armenian detainees, US State Secretary Antony Blinken tweeted on Wednesday, commenting on the repatriation of Armenian prisoners from Baku.
"We call on both parties to fully and expeditiously complete the exchange process for all prisoners, detainees, and remains, and to respect their obligations to ensure the humane treatment of detainees," Blinken added.
The European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar has also commented on the issue. "Welcome reports about Azerbaijan’s release of a further three Armenian detainees. Important for all prisoners and detainees to be released by both sides to build confidence and move towards sustainable peace and prosperity for the South Caucasus," said Klaar.
