Armenian lawmakers get Covid-19 vaccine in the parliament
Armenian lawmakers get vaccinated against Covid-19 in the parliament building. As member of ruling 'My Step' faction Narek Zeynalyan informed, the deputies receive their vaccines according to the medical protocol
"Deputies under 55 who have no chronic diseases get AstraZeneca vaccine, others above 55 may choose to get either AstraZeneca or Sputnik V. This is for the elder parliamentarians to choose their vaccine. Staff members of the National Assembly are also offered vaccines if they wish," Zeynalyan said.
The parliamentarian reminded that 1/3 of the population should get vaccinated to form the immune response, admitting, however, that any medicine, including vaccines, have their own risks.
"Any drug has a side effect. I assure those are sometimes more dangerous than those from vaccines. Notably, none of us ever go deeper what are the common side effects of for example aspirin," said Zeynalyan. The parliamentarian brought statistics that the risk of death from AstraZeneca vaccine is less than one in a million which is a low number.
