Armenia’s caretaker FM discusses border incident with CSTO chief
Acting Foreign Minister of Armenia Ara Aivazian on Thursday held a phone conversation with CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) Secretary General Stanislav Zas, the ministry’s press service reported.
Aivazian briefed Zas on the situation created as a result of the recent incident on the state border of Armenia on May 12. He deemed inadmissible the attempt of Azerbaijan to encroach on the sovereign territory of Armenia, a CSTO member state, noting that it also poses a serious threat to regional security and stability.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the application of the provisions of the Collective Security Treaty and the tools provided by the CSTO Charter in such situations.
