UN: Unhindered humanitarian access in Nagorno‑Karabakh impossible because of Azerbaijan
UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric on Thursday reaffirmed the need for unhindered humanitarian access in Nagorno-Karabakh, saying it is not possible because of Azerbaijan.
His comments came in response to a question about updates on the activities of UN groups at the area of Nagorno Karabakh conflict at a press briefing.
“We would like to have the unhindered humanitarian access in Nagorno‑Karabakh, as we ask for in other parts of the world. To date, this has not been possible because we've not received the necessary authorization from the Azeri authorities. However, we are hopeful that we'll see progress on this soon,” Dujarric said.
