Azerbaijan actually preparing not for peace, but for war, says Armenian expert
Azerbaijan is actually preparing not for peace, but for war, Armenian expert on Iran Vardan Voskanyan said on Sunday, pointing to intensive Azerbaijani military exercises.
"Have those who talk about making peace with the enemy asked themselves whether Baku wants that peace. In fact, the enemy is not preparing for peace, but for war, otherwise there would be no need to hold regular military exercises of such intensity,” the expert wrote on Facebook.
Voskanyan stated it is as difficult for the Azerbaijani troops to maintain the line of contact that emerged as a result of the partial occupation of Artsakh as for the Armenian forces.
“Let's take the example of the occupied Karvachar region, which being surrounded by natural barriers, the armies of Armenia and Artsakh and the Kashatagh corridor guarded by Russian peacekeepers, has in fact turned into an "island" where it will be much easier for the troops from Armenia and Artsakh to enter,” he said.
