A message from Palestine: Armenians are our friends, we are not ready to accept any support from Turks
The Chairman of 'Nairi' Union of Israeli Armenians in Petah Tikva Artyom Chernomoryan commented on recent statements from official Turkish circles regarding the Israeli-Palestinian recent escalation. Chernomoryan is also the Editor-in-Chief of "The Armenians of Israel" newspaper and an accredited journalist in Israel.
In an interview with Ermenihaber.am, Chernomoryan informed that Turkish President Erdogan's recent statement about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict had received negative reaction both in Israel and Palestine.
"Armenians are our friends, do not draw parallels between the ongoing Israeli–Palestinian conflict and the Artsakh conflict. We are not ready to accept any support from Turks. This message was clear," Chernomoryan told, adding Egypt remains the hegemony state in the region and it will never allow Turkey to interfere in the Arab-Iraeli conflict.
The head of "Nairi" Union next pointed to another noteworthy circumstance. Turkey is funding non-governmental organizations in East Jerusalem, and Turkish traces are now visible in number of buildings in the city. "The fact is that in those territories which are settled by Palestinians Turkey acts at the level of NGOs," Chernomoryan added.
To remind, earlier, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that Ankara supports the Palestinians in the same way it supported Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh).
