Altercation took place between Armenian, Azeri troops near Sev Lich – Defense Ministry
An altercation took place between the Armenian and Azerbaijani military near Sev Lich (Black Lake), which was resolved through efforts of the supreme command, the Defense Ministry of Armenia said in a statement on Friday.
The ministry reported no significant changes in the border situation after the Azerbaijani military incursion into Armenian territory on May 12 and 13.
“On the evening of May 20, an altercation took place near Sev Lich, which was caused by videos featuring Armenian and Azerbaijani servicemen that circulated on Armenian and Azerbaijani social media pages and news outlets. The altercation was resolved through efforts of the supreme command,” the ministry said.
“The Defense Ministry of Armenia urges to refrain from spreading such videos. They do not in any way help resolve the issue peacefully and contribute to the unnecessary escalation of tensions.
“In general, the situation is stable. The Armenian military units are in full control of the situation, continuing to keep the Azerbaijani troops blocked,” the statement reads.
