Russian Defense Ministry: No provocative actions against Russian peacekeepers noted in the past week in Artsakh
Military personnel of the Russian peacekeeping continent continue to perform tasks to monitor compliance with the ceasefire and ensure the safety of motor transport, transportation of food and various goods along the Lachin corridor, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday.
Over the past week, no ceasefire violations were recorded in the area of responsibility of the peacekeeping contingent, no provocative actions against Russian servicemen were noted, according to the statement.
It is noted that all observation posts of the Russian peacekeeping contingent are equipped with Blockpost fortifications designed to protect military personnel from small arms and shrapnel, as well as to conduct circular surveillance of the nearby territory.
"Our main task is to monitor compliance with the ceasefire agreement, as well as to ensure the safety of civilian transport along the route," said the commander of the observation post, Sergei Ivanov. "For this purpose, checkpoints are organized at the post, where all transport is taken into account. Round - the-clock monitoring of the area is carried out, as well as ensuring the safety of the movement of civilian vehicles," he added.
In addition to monitoring the situation in the area of responsibility, the personnel of the observation posts of the Russian peacekeeping contingent regularly carry out combat training activities and conduct training to prevent violations, as well as possible attacks on the observation post. Russian peacekeepers, in case of receiving a signal about an incident, are ready to take up defenсe in the shortest possible time in pre-equipped positions in accordance with the staffing table.
