Ambassador of the Netherlands Nico Schermers, visited Monday Goris town, Syunik region, to be informed about opportunities and cultural and economic activities in the city, the Embassy reported in a statement. 

During his visit to the Women’s Resource Centre he was told about the support of Dutch "PUM Netherlands senior experts" to the Centre as well as the cooperation that had arranged with the Dutch company Louet spinning wheels. 

The main objective of the Women’s Recourse Centre is to promote economic and political empowerment of women in Armenia and other Eastern Partnership countries, through effective implementation of gender policy, women’s health protection, improvement of women’s social protection, gender-based violence prevention among other things.

The Ambassador was very yet positively surprised by the extensive contacts of the Centre with the Netherlands and is looking forward to new opportunities for enhancing the cooperation, said the Embassy.
