"All statements made in Azerbaijan these days should be considered in the context of Armenia's domestic political processes," Armenia's ex-president, the leader of "Armenia" pre-election bloc Robert Kocharyan stated Tuesday during the meeting with reporters. 

Asked to comment on Azerbaijani president's recent remarks about the peace agreement with Armenia, Kocharyan stressed that every effort should be exerted to prevent Azerbaijan from dictating an domestic political agenda n Armenia. 

"I have no doubt what preferences Azerbaijanis have about the Armenian elections and whom they would want to see as an elected prime minister of Armenia. This means they will use every chance to influence the electoral processes in our country. The suggested formula should be to prevent Azerbaijan from dictating an agenda for Armenia. If we accept this approach, we may successfully resist these types of pressures," added the ex-president. In his words, statements about peace coming from Azerbaijan are an attempt to guide the Armenian public. 

Kocharyan also questioned the ability of Armenia's current leaders to sign any agreement with Azerbaijan that would consider the country's vital interests. In the words of the  former president, the past three years come to show no policy has been implemented by the authorities that would serve Armenia's interests - be that in the security, economic spheres or in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement.
