Artur Vanetsyan: Capture of Armenian soldiers a consequence of Pashinyan’s latest statements
The situation created in Armenia is “unprecedented and unacceptable”, former National Security Service (NSS) Director Artur Vanetsyan, the leader of the I Have the Honor bloc, told reporters on Thursday, referring to the capture of six Armenian servicemen by the Azerbaijani troops on Wednesday night.
He stressed the need to look into the causes of the incident.
“I attribute the capture of six Armenian soldiers to the statements of Nikol Pashinyan made in the National Assembly yesterday. He indirectly blamed the CSTO and Russia for the situation on the borders of Armenia. Noticing that there is a gap, a problem in these relations, Azerbaijan used the opportunity to further deepen this crack,” Vanetsyan said.
The former NSS chief underlined that the longer Nikol Pashinyan and the “capitulant” authorities remain at the helm of the country, the more problems Armenia will be facing.
“A few days ago I formulated that Nikol Pashinyan’s continued rule entails new war, new defeats, new victims and new prisoners of war. Unfortunately, this formula still works. Unfortunately, Nikol did not stop and continued his anti-state activities. Rest assured, we will drive out our external enemy beyond our borders, while Nikol and his team of traitors shall face justice,” he said.
