Armen Gevorgyan: Our team proposes a concept of working country
The Armenia bloc, led by second Armenian President Robert Kocharyan, presented its pre-election program and team on Saturday.
“We do not consider this program presented to the public as a completed document. This is our principled position,” said former Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Armen Gevorgyan, who heads the election campaign headquarters of the Armenia bloc, presenting the program of the alliance titled “365 days: The future starts today”.
He said they are open to proposals, new ideas and objections through feedback.
“We are appealing to the public, various social groups and professional communities: your proposals and opinions are extremely important for us. We thus emphasize one of the fundamental approaches of our team – your participation in administration. Armenia needs to consolidate all potent forces and individuals with potential,” Gevorgyan said in his opening speech.
He said the program will be presented in all villages and cities of Armenia and will be discussed in homes and workplaces.
“We are looking forward to receiving your proposals and comments for the final version of the document to be of higher quality and more effective. Our state and citizens will see great results after its implementation,” he said.
Gevorgyan noted that not all spheres are covered by the program.
“It was impossible. In this document, we have presented our approaches and key ideas for progress, as well as concrete steps regarding some issues. In this sense, it is a combination of visions, ideas and concrete measures,” he said, admitting that at the moment they do not have a detailed assessment of the situation.
He said they do not know, for instance, how bad the state of the economy is, not ruling out that the situation could be worse than one might imagine.
However, the former deputy PM underlined they proceed from the current realities in Armenia and are guided by the prospect of the development and rise of the Armenian state.
“As a result of your proposals, discussions and corrections, this document may turn into a real action plan for the future government. Our team proposes a concept of a working country,” he said.
